Latimer Estate Wedding Photography on a rainy day

Megan and Lee's June wedding at Latimer Estate.

I had been recommended to Megan and Lee by a friend of theirs who was wedding and event venue finder (Venue Queen). We met at Latimer and sat on the beautiful sun filled terrace overlooking the chess valley to discuss their wedding plans.

Their June wedding was unfortunately not blessed with good weather but Latimer House is so stunning inside that it didn't seem to matter.

The bridal party got ready in one of the beautiful bedrooms.  The bridesmaids, both Mums and the Megan and Lee's little son making for a bustling, busy room (as it should be).  The flowers were delivered by Clare at Little Flower Stall which was a very emotional moment. The bride's Dad was waiting at the bottom of the stunning staircase to see his daughter for the first time. Of course there were tears!

The ceremony took place at  St Lawrence Church, Abbots Langley. This was the second time I had photographed a wedding at this very beautiful church with a lot of history. It was very emotional ceremony with a lot of love and  laughter.  Megan and Lee's little son was also included which was lovely.

The couple had asked for a photo of everyone from the balcony before they left the church.  So just as the ceremony was coming to an end I very quickly made my way up the tiniest stone spiral staircase I have ever seen (remember I am carrying a wide load of cameras and equipment!). Good job I always attend church rehearsals (even if I have photographed at that church before) so I knew to only take the minimum amount of equipment up the staircase with me! I then had to weave my way through the group of bell ringers who were getting ready for their moment. I just made it to the edge of the balcony as the couple walked down the aisle and paused in the middle as the guests were asked by Peter the vicar to look up towards me. Such a lovely way to get a group shot of everyone there.

After confetti and greeting their guests, a white Rolls Royce took the couple to Latimer Estate.

The wedding breakfast room looked stunning with floral displays again by Clare at The Little Flower Stall. Particularly loved the rose gold glass and succulents. A harpist played as the wedding breakfast was served.

As the weather still hadn't improved, the group photos had to be taken inside and none of the guests got to see the beautiful view from the grounds at Latimer. However, Megan and Lee braved the cold when the rain stopped for a few moments and did a very quick walk along the side of the house. Fastest bride and groom photos in history!  Later in the evening I took a couple of photos outside with the lights of the house and the couple's favourite tree.  The party in the evening was in full swing very quickly which is always good, Megan threw her bouquet and the guests lifted the couple into the air. Tina Turner's 'Proud Mary' was a definite dancing highlight! Their guests certainly knew how to the party!

The buffet was served at about 9pm and I left at around 10.30pm after I had made sure I had preserved the main story of the evening. Thank you Megan and Lee for asking me to preserve your wedding day story, it was beautiful.
